ON WITH THE (EVEN BIGGER) SHOW!: Disney-MGM Studios transitions to a new name — Disney’s Hollywood Studios — effective Jan. 7, 2008. The Disney-MGM Studios theme park transitions to a new name — Disney’s Hollywood Studios — effective Jan. 7, 2008. The name change reflects the theme park’s celebration of the golden age of movies as well as the new entertainment that today’s Hollywood has to offer in music, television, movies and theater. Among the new adventures coming to the theme park in 2008 — a cutting-edge, interactive attraction, a live-action stage show and a festive parade.
